Silent Night

Summary:

This is gonig to be a short summary of what happened in the book Silent Night. I am going to be
summarizing the pages 105 to 140. In other words i am going to be summarizing thrity five pages form the
book. I am going to summarize it in a nut shell but not so much that i defeat the purpose of reading the book
yourself. This is the part in the book where the news about the christmas truse starts to spread around. One
person that published a childerns book about it was Michael Foreman. He depicted the war games that
happened between each side of the oppising armys. This was an instent hit and childern everywhere wanted
to read it. The other thing that happened was that people started making comic strips about what they thionk
happened. Many people think that they decided to just celebrate, no it was not like that. What really
happened was alot of government officals and generals got together and signed a treaty saying that both sides
would stop fighting to celebrate christmas, and it was more complicated then most people thought. That is all
i have to say about this topic.
Quote:
This quote I think shows a summary of the book. The quote even has the book title, and when you see the book title in the quote you know it is important. That is why I choose the quote. I am not going to fully divulge the meaning of the quotes because then I would defeat the purpose of reading it.
“After a silent night and day--in many sectors much more than that--the war went on.  The peace seemed nearly forgotten. Yet memories of Christmas 1914 persist, and underlying them the compelling realities and the intriguing might-have-beens. What if...?”
Reaction:
My reaction to the book is that it was a very interesting read. I have always been intere as if you were actually their and it is so vivid in description that you can imagine the scenes happening as you read. Lastly I can’t stress enough that you read this book. That is because I loved it so much and I don’t normally enjoy reading but I did.sted in history from the begging. It is fun to learn about new things. Also that the book is one of my favorite books know. That is because the Author writes itas if you were actually their and it is so vivid in description that you can imagin e the scenes happening as you read. Lastly I can’t stress enough that you read this book. That is because I loved it so much and I don’t normally enjoy reading but I did.

silent night

Silnet Night

Summary:

The pages that i am going to summarize in Silent Night are these pages. I am going to summarize pages seventy to one hundered and five. I am going to summarize it but not go so in depth so that i ruin the point of reading the book. Their is not much that happens in these pages because this is the part in the book where it kind of winds down and it talks a little bit more of what happens during the christmas truse. What happened was that the soliders of both sides decided to help show that they respected each other and wanted to make this time special. The way that they did this was that they had the christmas truse games. This was basically a tournament of sports that were popular from both sides of the soliders. Also they did not have a winner in the end it was all about having fun. To  show this they didnt even keep score. This shows that they just wanted to celebrate christmas and have fun. That is basically what happened in the pages. The only other thing that happened was that they talked about it and the news spread to both sides. Also it was published in the newspapers of both home lands of the soliders. That way everyone new that they respected each other and celebrate christmas.
